Everything
starts in 1993, when a strong passion for music united five kids
from Mezzano, near Ravenna (Italy).
With the initial name of “Noise Pollution” Stefano Ruzzi
(drums, 14 years old), Christian Tombetti (guitar, 15 years old),
Dennis Randi (bass, 16 years old), Marco Guerrini (guitar, only
12!) and Davide De Paoli (singer), the band started with covers
from Metallica, Guns’n’Roses, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin
but they were already thinking about composing their own stuff.
They were noticed by Daniele Liverani, 23 years old guitarist, that
started jamming with them as keyboard player; he introduced them
to progressive and took care of their musical education.
In 1995, with Daniele on Keyboards, Matteo Babini as new singer
and Empty Tremor as official name, the group recorded a first demo
version of Apocolokyntosys that was very welcome by the critics,
but did not lead to any contract. For this reason in 1996 the group
heavily rearranged all their works and renewed their line up with
new singer Giò De Luigi, with which they wrote new melodies
and lyrics.
This second version of Apocolokyntosys had greater success and brought
to the publishing of the first official album of the group:
-Apocolokyntosys (1997) in collaboration with Pick Up Records e
Rising Sun-Fandango (for Japan)
In 1999 Empty Tremor released their second album:
-Eros & Thanatos (1999) in collaboration with Elevate Records,
SPV, Audioglobe 99Th Floor- One Music (Korea)
And at the same time a Dream Theater tribute:
-Voices (1999) a tribute to Dream Theater with Adrenaline records
In 2000, to focus on his own projects, singer Giò De Luigi
leaves the band. Despite the absence of a singer, the band keeps
composing.
In the same year Empty Tremor have the great pleasure to open the
Malmsteen’s concert in Italy.
In 2003 they collaborates with Oliver Hartmann (Avantasia, At Vance,
Rhapsody, Genius) that records the lead and background voices for
the new album:
-The Alien Inside (2004) with Frontiers Records.
Always in 2004 Empty Tremor reach one of their top ambitions receiving
a call from Dream Theater asking them to open each one of their
live concerts of “Train of Thoughts” Italian tour (Rome,
Florence and Bergamo).
In 2006 keyboardist and group’s mentor Daniele Liverani (Khymera,
Twinspirits, Cosmic, Genius Rock Opera, Daily Trauma, Jason Becker
Tribute) leaves the band to start his own soloist career. For personal
reasons the drummer Stefano Ruzzi leaves Empty Tremor.
In 2007 Marco Scott Gilardi, Empty Tremor’s friend and fan,
joins the group as Keyboard player.
Inspired by new energy and great desire to create, the band plays
and starts writing new music.
The problems due to absence of drums for the composing phase was
solved by Marco Guerrini (ET guitarist) that bought his own drum
set and learned the basics of this new instrument at light-speed!
While working on several new songs, the group plays as a live cover
band to have fun and gain feeling together.
In this new dimension Empty Tremor worked hard to achieve something
that today they are all proud of, taking particular care in arranging,
writing lyrics and finding personal solutions, but always having
fun while doing what they love.
This fourth album “IRIDIUM” features an enthusiastic
return of Giò De Luigi, singer of the first two works of
Empty Tremor.
The drum tracks is a precious stick-work of Dario Ciccioni (former
member of Hartmann, empYrios, Twinspirits, and well known for collaborations
with artists such as Daniele Liverani, Khymera, Genius Rock Opera,
Daniele Gottardo, Tommy Ermolli, Centrica, John Jeff Touch).
In July 2009 the band enters Fear Studio to record IRIDIUM’s
drums, the sound engineering, recording, mixing and mastering are
accomplished by Marco Scott Gilardi.
Meanwhile Christian Tombetti (ET guitarist) starts working on the
album’s graphic concepts and artwork.
Fans and public on the web are looking forward to listen to IRIDIUM,
curious to hear how Empty Tremor sound on their first work without
Daniele Liverani.
The band is now working on new songs.
